Not a very developed tourist infrastructure. Hard to find secluded bush
camping in populated areas. Lots of hostels and hotels on the Caribbean
coast. Hotel Helen next to Sambo Creek (near Ceiba) is excellent. |

GMT-6 hrs.
No visas necessary for UK or Irish passport holders. Carnet not needed, but
importation of vehicle at a total cost about $40 was easy. Internet in every
town. Major roads generally very good, back roads varied.
Very interesting and varied country, friendly people. Similar prices to
Nicaragua and Guatemala. One of our favourite countries. |
